Chopin concerts in Polonia House
Orpheus Artistic Agency organises Piano Recitals that take place in Polonia House – situated right at the Main Market Square in Krakow. During the performances the visitors are encouraged to get to know works of Frederic Chopin, the most acclaimed Polish musician and composer. The attendees will be surely enchanted by the sounds presented by eminent pianist from Poland and abroad, among them: Teresa Janina Czekaj, Anna Boczar, Adam Dobrowolski and Pawel Kubica. The concerts take place couple times per week – depending on the season. From September to October they are organised three times per week (on Tuesdays, Fridays and Sundays) while between November and December they are organised two twice a week (every Friday and Sunday). The concerts start at 7 pm and last about 80 minutes. Polonia House can place up to 100 people at the same time.

Frederic Chopin was born in 1810 nearby Warsaw and is thought to be one of the greatest composers and virtuoso pianist of Romantic period. His compositions and style, technically very demanding, emphasize nuance and expressive depth. He also invented ballade and introduced major innovations in piano sonata, waltz, nocturne, étude and other musical forms. In 1830, due to suppressions after November Uprising against the occupiers of Poland, he moved to France where he died in 1849. His music was characteristic for Romantic style but also expression of Polish spirit. |
Orpheus Artistic Agency
“Orpheus” Artistic Agency was opened in 2000 and has been led since then by Jan Baryła. The agency aims at promoting artistic and cultural events as well as organising them. The main idea of the events proposed by Orpheus is promotion of classical pieces of music in various stylistic arrangements. the agency cooperates with renowned musicians from Krakow, whole Poland and from those abroad. It organises events on request (in Krakow hotels, public and private institutions) as well as series of concerts in cooperation with Polonia House and Galicia Jewish Museum.
