During the New Year’s Eve the Main Market Square of Krakow becomes one of the biggest open air ball places. Apart from music performances and fireworks it is the ambience that will make your evening exceptional.

After Christmas Eve family dinner, that is tradition in Polish homes, families take part in midnight mass that expresses joy of this period especially due to the carol songs that are at that moment for the first time sung in the churches.

The most beautiful Christmas Cribs – depicting nativity scenes – that were built for the contest, are exhibited in Krzysztofory Museum. You may admire there the pieces of art collected throughout the years.

The contest is an old tradition which has been taking place since 1937. On that day the Christmas Cribs are displayed on the Market Square and judged. One may see real pieces of art – decorative Nativity Scenes characteristic for Krakow architecture.

Christmas Market is a great opportunity to purchase hand-made goods, souvenirs as well as Christmas decorations. They are each year sold on the fair that opens in November and lasts till Christmas.

The tradition of All Saints Day derives from the Celtic holiday called Samhain – which means the death of body. This bank holiday is for the Poles a time of meditation. Whole families visit cemeteries to light a candle on graves of their relations and embellish them with flowers.

Polish Folk Show is especially aimed at foreign tourists who wish to get to know Polish folk culture through music. Krakus ensemble presents the audience singing, dances and traditions – in folk costumes of various Polish regions.

The concerts that take place in Galicia Jewish Museum feature classical Klezmer pieces in own arrangements of Nazzar group. Apart from marvellous music the ambience of the evening is enriched with interesting post industrial interior of the place.

The Piano Recitals are organised by Orpheus Artistic Agency in Polonia House (situated right on the Main Market Square). The visitors to Krakow are encouraged to listen to works of Chopin presented by eminent pianist from Poland and abroad.

Solemn concert, that will take place in St Francis church in Krakow, celebrates 100th anniversary of coronation of Virgin Mary of Sorrows’ holy painting. One can hear during the event soloists with Gregorian choir and chamber orchestra “Orfeusz” – led by Jan Baryła.
